About Fiona

Fiona Ryan hails from County Clare. She has been singing and playing music since she was two years old. Her parents instilled a love of music in her since this tender age, with many genres of music played regularly in her childhood home. Singing and performance were an integral part of her school years where her love and passion for music was nurtured and developed. Following school Fiona moved to Cork where she studied music in University College Cork and qualified as a secondary school teacher. Fiona went on to establish the Music Department at St Anne’s Community College, Killaloe where she continues to teach Music today. Having spent many years focusing on her career and raising her family, Fiona is now ready to pursue her passion for singing.

Fiona has a beautiful tone and sings with effortless clarity and is known for her contemporary, emotive interpretations of Irish folk songs. She is an independent, versatile vocalist in her own right, and has also performed with many different groups including the world renowned Bunratty Castle Singers.

In 2022 Fiona made her debut guest appearance with the Kilfenora Ceili Band in the Watergate Theatre in Kilkenny. She will be performing at a selection of gigs with the Kilfenora Ceili Band in 2023 and is in the process of recording her debut album produced by Dave Keary, which is due for release later this year.
